EVENT RECAP: EMILEE RILEY TAKES SECOND IN GREENVILLE

January 01, 2001

Wicked weather can’t stop Team Pull-A-Part driver Emilee Riley from taking the wheel.

Booming thunder and a seemingly unending deluge of rain descended from the clouds above Anderson Speedway in South Carolina this weekend. Emilee and her five-person team were hoping to turn laps at the 3/8-mile asphalt track referred to as the “Supertrack of the Carolinas” as the morning practice session continued under rain, but when the weather took a worse turn just hours before the race’s scheduled start, Emilee’s team made the executive decision to pack up and head for Greenville Pickens Speedway in time to make the next day’s race.

The last-second decision paid off: a top-five finish on nearly no notice.
