Video Transcript

In this video. We're going to go step by step on how to remove the outside mirror assembly on 2000 Toyota Camry. Now, the tools that are required for removing outside mirror assembly are a 10 millimeter socket, an extension and a ratchet. Now, if it's a power mirror assembly, make sure to refer to the door panel removal video where we go over all the related fasteners and tools required for it. Because as you can see, it's one of the more common items that will get damaged.

This is the driver's side. We'll be showing you how to remove the passenger side. Now, when it comes to the removal of the mirror assembly, it's really going to depend on if you have a manual mirror or. If it's a manual mirror or you need to do is pop this cover off and then you can get to two hidden fasteners. But if it's a power mirror, we do have a connector we to get access to, because the harness right here is part of the mirror. It comes to the door and it goes behind the door panel. Now, in a previous video, we actually covered removal of the door panel. So please refer to that where we point out all the fasteners in the tools that's needed for all of the parameter versions. We've got the door panel off and now we're going to pull back on the vapor barrier. We need to get to this connector right here to release, to lock. I got to do a squeeze in on the side and lift up. Now the mirrors attach for a total of 310. Nuts to work on that Black cover. And right here, we've got a rubber cover that we need to remove in order to get access to that one.

So what we recommend doing is taking two of the Nets completely off the upper one backing off, but leave it threaded partially because we don't want the mirror to fall off the outside the vehicle to a ready to support it with our hands. So if they're start taking those two off, like I mentioned this last one, I'll take it all the way off, just enough to hold it until we can reach around and support it. So if one hand we're going to grab and support the mirror and then the other one we're going to reach in. We're going to back off on that last remaining nut. And typically the Mirror, wouldn't be loose like it is now. Usually it's still stuck to the side of the door, so it may take some rocking back and forth to get it freed up. So all we do now is guide to stretch the sheet metal and make sure that we guide the wiring harness as well.
