Hey everybody, Charles from HumbleMechanic.com, back with another DIY and DRIVE tutorial with Pull-A-Part Used Auto Parts.

Today I'm going to show you how to take the front seat out of a Volkswagen. This is only going to require a couple of basic tools: a Phillips head screwdriver, a ratchet, a 13 millimeter socket, and a pocket screwdriver. Step one, move the seat all the way forward. Next, we're going to take these plastic trim covers off. Popping the covers off gives us access to Philips head screws, and on the other side. Now, when you take the side off, you need to pull up and then back because there's a tab at the front that you don't want to break.

Next, we're going to go ahead move the seat all the way back and take out these two You might run in to, right here where the nut will hit the carpet, you can actually just push the carpet down a little bit and spin that off. Next, what I like to do is give the seat back a bit of a tap. What that will do is that a release the studs from this bracket here. Next we're going to tip the seat back and check for any electrical connectors. So if the seat has seat heaters, or an air bag, or a seat belt buckle connector, you're going to want to undo those before taking the seat out. Now, that we're free of any connectors we can go ahead and remove the seat. Now, in order to take the seat out, I like to put my left hand on the bottom and my right hand between the seat back and the seat cushion. Next, we just slide the seat all the way back and lift the back end. Now, when we're taking the seat out we want to be really careful not to grab the seat belt or damage the plastic trim.

All right, guys, this is Charles from HumbleMechanic.com Thanks for watching and I will see you next time.
