How to Remove a Tail Light Assembly from a Toyota Camry

Pull Tip: Once you remove the lights, if the seals between the assembly and the sheet metal are still in good shape, remove and use them as well.

Recommended Tools

  • Phillips Head Screwdriver
  • 10mm Socket
  • Ratchet Extensions
  • Ratchet

Instructions

  • Print

    Remove fasteners from inside of the trunk using a Phillips screwdriver

  • 2

    Pull the plastic trim panel off

  • 3

    Disconnect electrical wires by squeezing in on sides

  • 4

    Remove three 10mm nuts for each light you are removing

  • 5

    For the taillight assembly mounted on the truck, partially remove the trunk liner cover

  • 6

    Remove electrical connectors as above and remove fasteners using 10mm socket

  • 7

    Remove final fastener on outside corner of trunk - you should now be able to remove the assembly
