How To Remove A Fuel Pump From A Toyota Camry

Applies to: TOYOTA CAMRY (2000)

2000 Toyota Camry

Pull Tip: There may be fuel in the fuel line. This line may be pressurized. To remove pressure, remove the fuel pump fuse or relay and turn the engine over a few times until it no longer starts. You should then be able to remove the fuel line without any fuel leakage.

Recommended Tools

Instructions

  • Print

    Release the latches and remove the rear seat from the vehicle

  • 2

    Pull back carpet to expose the fuel pump panel

  • 3

    Pry up the metal access cover

  • 4

    Press in on the latch assembly and remove

  • 5

    Remove the 7mm fasteners holding the protective plate in place

  • 6

    Follow the pull tip instructions to insure there is no pressure in the fuel line

  • 7

    Once pressure is removed from line, disconnect the fuel line from the pump

  • 8

    Remove six remaining 7mm bolts around the perimeter of the fuel pump

  • 9

    Grab ahold of the pump and remove from the opening
