How to Remove a Front Axle From a Toyota Camry

Pull Tip: If you don't have power tools, you can use a flathead screwdriver in the slots of the rotor to lock it in place, then remove the 30mm nut using a breaker bar.

  • Use a ratchet to make your repair with help from Pull-A-Part. Ratchet

Instructions

  • Print

    Remove cotter pin by bending legs back together and remove retainer ring

  • 2

    Remove 30mm socket using ratchet (breaker bar) or power tool

  • 3

    Remove three 17mm fasteners from the bottom (attached to control arm)

  • 4

    Pull down on control arm and pull the spindle forward to clear the ball joint

  • 5

    Grab the spindle and pull it forward to give you access to pry the axle from the transmission and remove it from vehicle
