How to Remove the Center Console from a Ford Explorer

Instructions

  • Print
  • 1

    Remove 8mm fastener from each side of console

  • 2

    Release "Christmas Tree" fasteners from each side and pry outward

  • 3

    Release 7mm bolt from under rubber insert in console

  • 4

    Use plastic trim stick and pry away cup holder assembly

  • 5

    Disconnect cigarette lighter electrical connection

  • 6

    Remove two 8mm bolts from top of console

  • 7

    Remove electrical connector using metal trim stick and disconnect

  • 8

    Remove additional fasteners using ratchet extensions (use pocket magnet to remove fasteners)

  • 9

    Once all fasteners are removed, you should be able to remove the console from the vehicle
