VIDEO TRANSCRIPT

Hey, everybody, Charles from humblemechanic.com back with another DIY & Drive tutorial with Pull-A-Part Used Auto Parts. Today, I'm going to show you how to take a window glass out of a Volkswagen. The tools you're going to need for this job are going to be T30 or possibly a 10 millimeter.

Now the door panel has already been removed. Check my other video on how to remove a Volkswagen door panel. We don't have power on this door. So what we're going to do to bypass that is we're going to take off the window motor and shimmy the window glass down to gain access to the fasteners. I'm going to remove these three T30 torq screws. Now we can take the motor off. We're going to need to pull these rubber grommets out. So that we can see the fasteners so we know what height to drop the window glass down too. And you can either pop them out like this or just take them out altogether.

Now once we have the glass at the proper height, I'm actually just going to put the motor back on so our glass doesn't fall any further and use our T30 to loosen these screws. You don't want to remove them. Otherwise, the back part of the clamp will fall down into the door. So just a couple of turns out on the back one and on the front. Next, what you're going to need to do is go ahead just take the glass out, pull the back of the glass up, and forward. And as it comes up, it'll come past the frame of the door. Grab your window tight and you can pull it straight out. All right, guys, this is Charles from humblemechanic.com. Thanks for watching. And I will see you next time.
