In order to access the two fasteners that hold the bumper cover on, you will need to take the fender liner out of the way. It does not need to be removed completely but it needs to be out of the way so there is room to work

  • 2

Remove the 10mm or T25 bolts holding the fender liner on

  • 3

Take out the three T25 torque screws out holding the fender liner

  • 4

Once you remove the T25s, peal back the fender liner and that will give you access to the three fasteners that hold on the bumper

  • 5

Next, remove the three 10mm nuts located towards the front of the car

  • 6

Repeat the same process on the other side

  • 7

Remove the lower grille covers from the left and right side which will give you access to the last bolts holding on the bumper cover

  • 8

Remove the T50 bolts. The bolt might get hung up in the bumper so grab some pliers and pull it down a little which will help release the bolt

  • 9

Start by pulling away the lower portion of the bumper cover a little bit. BE CAREFUL, electrical connectors and washer fluid piping still need to be disconnected from the bumper.

  • 10

Lift the bumper gently off of the car and that will give you access to the electrical connectors

  • 11

Next, disconnect all electrical connectors, then put the bumper cover back on and repeat the process on the other side

  • 12

When everything is disconnect, you will be able to pull the bumper cover straight off

Today, I'm going to show you how to take the front bumper cover off of an Audi.
All right, the tools we're going to need for this job is going to be a T25 torques, a pair of pliers, a T50 torques, a 10 millimeter socket, and I highly recommend a long extension, so that you can reach the fasteners for the bumper cover. In order to access the two fasteners that actually hold the bumper cover on, we're going to need to take the fender liner out of the way. It doesn't need to be removed completely, but we want it out of the way so we have room to work.
I'm going to start by taking this 10 millimeter off. Now, this may also be a T25. Next, I'm going to take these three T25 torque screws out. And that'll be enough to give us room to work. Once we remove the T25s, we can peel back the fender liner and that'll give us access to our three fasteners holding on the bumper cover.
Next, we can remove the three 10 millimeter nuts. And, of course, we're going to do the same exact thing on the other side. Next, we're going to need to remove the lower grill covers from both the left and right side.
That'll give us access to the last bolt holding on the bumper cover. So we're going to go ahead and take that out. This is a T50 torque bit. There may be times where this bolt actually gets a little bit hung in the bumper, so a quick tip is to grab a pair of pliers and just give it a little pull. And that will help release the bolt. We're going to start by pulling away the lower portion of the bumper cover just a little bit. Now, we still have electrical connectors as well as washer fluid piping that we need to disconnect. So we don't want to pull the bumper cover away. We want to lift it gently off the car and that'll give us access to our electrical connectors. Now, put the bumper cover back on so we can do the other side. Now that we have all our electrical connectors disconnected, we can simply pull the bumper cover off.
All right guys, this is Charles for humblemechanic.com. Thanks for watching, and I will see you next time.
