Whenever possible, remove the part from your own vehicle first. Steps and tools may vary based on trim packages, or modification to the vehicle by previous owners. Hood removal Ford F-150. We needed a trim tool and a millimeter socket to remove the hood on this truck.
Start by lifting the hood, and support it if needed. Then, disconnect the plastic clips that hold the wiring to the hood. Also remove the washer hoses. There are four fasteners holding the hood onto this truck. There's two fasteners on the driver's side and two fasteners on the passenger side. Remove the four fasteners. Removing the hood isn't difficult, per se. The steps are simple, but having a helper around does make it easier to lift. And that's how you remove a hood from a Ford F-150.
