Whenever possible, remove the part from your own vehicle first. Steps and tools may vary based on trim packages or modifications to the vehicle by previous owners. Computer removal, 1996 Honda Civic. Computer is located behind the right kick panel. Tools required will be a 10-millimeter pocket screwdriver, and also, not shown, a trim tool. Remove the two clips holding the right lower kick panel on. One clip is located up by the blower motor. Once the trim piece is removed, you can disconnect the electrical connections going to the computer. We use the pocket screwdriver to assist us. We also used a pocket screwdriver to remove this harness connection here. We removed a 10-millimeter holding the retainer for the clip on the outside of the computer. There's only one more 10-millimeter fastener to remove to remove the computer. Once that fastener is removed, you can slide the computer out.
